The 58th Grammy Awards held on Monday filled with its little dramas and ups and downs. Celebrities turned out in their finest
and what we hoped weren’t their finest (*coughs* Dencia, it’s an award show not a costume party).
The biggest victories of the night were Taylor Swift with three wins and Kendrick Lamar with four wins…
The rapper won in the Best Rap song, Best Rap/song Collaboration, Best Rap performance and Best Rap Album categories. Boyish looking The Weekend went home with two wins in Best R&B performance and Best urban Contemporary Album categories.
Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson for two wins for bringing the funk back with Uptown Funk in Best Pop Duo and Record of the Year categories. Beliebers had something to cheer about as Justin Bieber won the Best Dance recording category. And not forgetting our own, Angélique Kidjo also won a Grammy as World Artist.
During her acceptance speech, Taylor Swift subtly shaded Many West as she addressed the “young women out there”…
Disappointments from the night included Adele’s performance that was fraught with faulty sounds and off let vocals. Rihanna and Lauryn Hill were no shows for their performances.
