The 11-time all-star NBA player and The Lebron James Family Foundation partnered up with Scott imageScarborough at the University of Akron. UofA is the nearby university of the basketball player’s hometown in Ohio. The two came to the agreement that every child who completes Lebron’s “I Promise” program will earn a guaranteed scholarship to the school worth around $38,000.

Lebron revealed this break-taking announcement at the organization’s annual “family reunion.” This year it was hosted at the Cedar Point amusement park with nearly 5,000 students and family members in attendance.

With this newfound partnership, The LeBron James Family Foundation and the University of Akron could be putting as many as 2,300 Akron kids through college.

This star athlete definitely shows how he values higher education for the youth, with this generous gesture. Way to make dreams come true, King James!
